Synopsis

The remote EulerOS Virtualization host is missing multiple security updates.

Description

According to the versions of the kernel packages installed, the EulerOS Virtualization installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

- An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 5.0.19. The XFRM subsystem has a use-after-free, related to an xfrm_state_fini panic, aka CID-dbb2483b2a46. (CVE-2019-25045)

- An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel before 5.10. drivers/infiniband/core/ucma.c has a use-after- free because the ctx is reached via the ctx_list in some ucma_migrate_id situations where ucma_close is called, aka CID-f5449e74802c. (CVE-2020-36385)

- In ep_loop_check_proc of eventpoll.c, there is a possible way to corrupt memory due to a use after free. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. - An information disclosure vulnerability exists in the ARM SIGPAGE functionality of Linux Kernel v5.4.66 and v5.4.54. The latest version (5.11-rc4) seems to still be vulnerable. A userland application can read the contents of the sigpage, which can leak kernel memory contents. An attacker can read a process's memory at a specific offset to trigger this vulnerability. - net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_standalone.c in the Linux kernel before 5.12.2 allows observation of changes in any net namespace because these changes are leaked into all other net namespaces. How to Run


Here is how to run the EulerOS Virtualization 3.0.2.0 : kernel (EulerOS-SA-2021-2818) as a standalone plugin via the Nessus web user interface (https://localhost:8834/):

  1. Click to start a New Scan.
  2. Select Advanced Scan.
  3. Navigate to the Plugins tab.
  4. On the top right corner click to Disable All plugins.
  5. On the left side table select Huawei Local Security Checks plugin family.
  6. On the right side table select EulerOS Virtualization 3.0.2.0 : kernel (EulerOS-SA-2021-2818) plugin ID 156347.
  7. Specify the target on the Settings tab and click to Save the scan.
  8. Run the scan.
