Patch Published: N/A
CVE [?]: CVE-2007-6530
CPE [?]: N/A

Synopsis

The remote Windows host has an ActiveX control that is affected by a buffer overflow vulnerability.

Description

The remote host contains a version of the XUpload ActiveX control from Persits Software that reportedly is affected by a buffer overflow in its 'AddFolder' method that can be triggered by a long argument. If a remote attacker can trick a user on the affected host into visiting a specially crafted web page, this issue could be leveraged to execute arbitrary code on the affected host subject to the user's privileges.

Solution

If using Persits Software XUpload, upgrade to version 3.0.0.0 or later as that reportedly resolves the issue.

If using Mercury LoadRunner, set the kill bit for the affected control.
