The remote directory service is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The remote host is running eDirectory, a directory service software from Novell. The installed version of Novell eDirectory is affected by multiple issues :

- An unspecified cross-site scripting flaw exists. (CVE-2012-0428)

- It is possible to trigger a remote denial of service vulnerability by sending a malformed HTTP request. (CVE-2012-0429) - An unspecified flaw may allow a remote attacker to gain access to administrator cookie information. (CVE-2012-0430)

How to Run


Here is how to run the Novell eDirectory 8.8.x Multiple Security Vulnerabilities as a standalone plugin via the Nessus web user interface (https://localhost:8834/):

  1. Click to start a New Scan.
  2. Select Advanced Scan.
  3. Navigate to the Plugins tab.
  4. On the top right corner click to Disable All plugins.
  5. On the left side table select Misc. plugin family.
  6. On the right side table select Novell eDirectory 8.8.x Multiple Security Vulnerabilities plugin ID 63338.
  7. Specify the target on the Settings tab and click to Save the scan.
  8. Run the scan.
