Synopsis

An application on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities

Description

The 12.2.1.3.0 and 12.2.1.4.0 versions of WebCenter Sites installed on the remote host are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the April 2022 CPU advisory.

- Vulnerability in the Oracle WebCenter Sites product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: WebCenter Sites (Cryptacular)). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.3.0 and 12.2.1.4.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle WebCenter Sites. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of Oracle WebCenter Sites. (CVE-2020-7226)

- Vulnerability in the Oracle WebCenter Sites product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Advanced UI (Apache Log4j)). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.3.0 and 12.2.1.4.0. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows high privileged attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle WebCenter Sites. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in takeover of Oracle WebCenter Sites. (CVE-2021-44832)

- Security-in-Depth issue in the Oracle WebCenter Sites product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: WebCenter Sites (Bouncy Castle Java Library)). This vulnerability cannot be exploited in the context of this product. (CVE-2020-28052)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the appropriate patch according to the April 2022 Oracle Critical Patch Update advisory.
