Synopsis

The remote host is affected by a vulnerability

Description

The version of MySQL Connectors installed on the remote host are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the April 2022 CPU advisory.

- Vulnerability in the MySQL Connectors product of Oracle MySQL (component: Connector/C++ (OpenSSL)). Supported versions that are affected are 8.0.28 and prior. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Connectors. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Connectors. (CVE-2022-0778)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

How to Run


Here is how to run the Oracle MySQL Connectors (Apr 2022 CPU) as a standalone plugin via the Nessus web user interface (https://localhost:8834/):

  1. Click to start a New Scan.
  2. Select Advanced Scan.
  3. Navigate to the Plugins tab.
  4. On the top right corner click to Disable All plugins.
  5. On the left side table select Misc. plugin family.
